Willow Pond is a sanctuary nestled in a beautiful little valley in the Santa Cruz Mountains, open and sunny, yet surrounded by majestic redwood forests, just 10 minutes from downtown Soquel. It has beautifully landscaped, well cared-for safe grounds, complete with a duck pond, plenty of shade, lots of green areas, the winding year round Love Creek and abundant flowers.
Learn life skills with 14 wonderful horses and kind instructors.
Teamwork, Responsibility, Self Esteem, Self Confidence, Boundary Setting, How To Be Innovative and Think Creatively. Willow Pond Camps help develop concentration, focus, fine motor skills, and physical fitness. Horse riding improves all other skills needed to excel in school and in life.
In working with the rescued horses, who have been rehabilitated, and today are some of the nicest and best mannered horses that you will find anywhere, your children are introduced to the concept of service and making a difference. With the rescued horse, the rescued cats, and the encounters with all the wild things, turtles lizards, frogs, snakes, fish, newts, salamanders, doves, quail, woodpeckers, hawks, owls, frogs, snakes, rabbits, coyotes, bobcats, deer, raccoons; who all call Willow Pond home, the children learn to respect and value other species and develop a further love of nature. Our award winning program to compost the manure teaches them the value of recycling and learning to be "Green".
The attention to the care of the ranch and the natural beauty of the Santa Cruz Mountains, redwood forests and the natural creek, teaches them about respect for both natural and man-made beauty. This is a program where your children learn how to have awareness and impact and introduces them to the concept of service and making a difference. Your children learn to be more caring citizens both giving and receiving.
